1/1/09 We are updating
our website and wishing everyone a happy New year. We have had a very slow year onthe showcircuit and we do not think that
it will be very active during 2009. We are looking forward to the AHALI specialties, the garden houndshows and to WESTMINSTER
KC. Sofia, Glory and Owen will be present and hopefully have a good time!We are congratulating our good friend Ch. Galilee's
Pure of Spirit and her entire team for number ONE DOG all breeds. Spirit is very close to our hearts too since she spent alot
of her baby hood growing up with our Sofia and Marcus. Congratulations to Maryann, Mary and Pete and naturally to the entire
Mc Fadden crew!!!

Trying to organize photos a bit better be patient! I will get it done. Fridgid temperatures in NEW YORK. Hampering our warm
up for the Garden.
2/9/09 Asa's birthday! And Glory made history ( at least in our
family) by winning Best of Breed under Bo Bengtson at Westminster Kennel Club. She was as perfect as she can be and we are
still on cloud nine. Both afghan boys made the first cut! Thank you to Meri for showing Marcus!

Sofia wins award of merit under Ptricia Laurans. Kristin Karboski handling beautiful. Anna stayed away from the ring not to
upset miss Spirit that went on to best of breed and to Group One!
2/11/09 We packed the car
again for a 5.30 am departure to NYC. With Marcus this time heading for Martha Stewart show. We were part of a segment or
dogs that competed at Westminster and it was a lovely experience. And we finally got to say congrats to Stump and his entourage!
3/20/09 Sofia and Glory wins BOB both days and Group 3 and 2 respectively on Saturday! Woohoo! Pictures to the right!
3/29/09 Added new pictures of our blond beauty Soren at three years of age.
4/10/09 Sofia wins teh GSCA regional with Stacy Snyder under Judy Harrington and supported entry day after!!
5/1/09 Amelia RWB at NNJAHC!! Her second Specialty major reserve.. Oh so close!

Sofia best of breed Saturday and Sunday and Group Four at Trenton! WOW! Bob Stein judging.

Next time out is Long Island Kennel Club and Sofia wind a Group Second under Teri Hundt. Amelia wins her 6th major reserve!!

5/23/09 Sofia wins an honorable Group Four under Klaus Anselm, Glory wins
two Best of breed under Mr. Anselm and Barry Deitch.
6/7/09 Sofia wins yet another Group
Second to the number one working dog in the country (who later won BIS!) CJ the beautiful doberman bitch. Amelia wins 1 pt,
BOW and BOS under Don Jones Saturday and WB for 2 pts and BOS under Rita Bell on Sunday!

Glory wins a big Best of Breed under Australian Judge Peter Frost and Sofia wins another Group placement this time under Jim
White at Bryn Mawr KC, Pennsylvania
6/25/09 We have two weks off for the dogs! Back in the
game on July 3d!
8/10/09 Alot of NEWS! Richard Peter our nephew (Ben's sister Mary and husband
Rich son) was born late June! Sofia and Glory are doing great in the rings and both have gathered multiple group wins! We
are thrilled! Nice Hanna was 2 in late june and we are hoping for a trip home to visit with them soon! Please visit Sofia
and Glory's page for new pictures! We beleive that Sofia is a top five Giant Schnauzer! Go team Skansen!
10/6/09 Rolita our Chilean houseguest wins the 12-18 class at the National Specialty under Edith Hanson, her big
sister Nacira who now lives with us too went Best of Winners owner handled by Juan Pio Milano Ruiz the day after at Potomac
Afghan Hound Club under Avery Gaudin. Sofia is having a wonderful fall and gathered group wins and placements
most weekends. Glory has a small break awaiting indoor shows. Rolita wins her 6th point at Devon Dog Club under Deidrie Petrie.
11/18/09 Nacira is now finished with 4 majors, 3 Best of Breeds and a Group First.
She will be selectively specialed. Rolita has jumped back in the ring and is up to eight points and will try to finish her
championship now. Sofia has continued her winning ways and is still the number four Giant!

Rolita is now finished and we celebrate Sofia's top five (we think - knock on wood!) placement as topwinning Giant of 2009.
12/15/09 Merry Christmas everyone! We are grateful for some time off until end of January
and we will have 2 dogs at Westminster in 2010 if all goes as planned. This year was very exciting in the show rings with
Glory winning Best of Breed at Westminster, Sofia winning an award of Merit and a Specialty Best in Show. Glory became a group
winner and we finished two afghans for the Von Haussman kennel in Chile. I added pictures all over the site and the von Hausman
Afghans have thier own page! On a personal note our nephews Linus Alexander Rising was born in late March in Sweden and in
June Richard Peter Schmidt was born on Long Island. All are doing great!
